Warwick Intermodal Station, Warwick, Rhode Island


Overview:

  • This project served as a direct rail connection from T.F. Green State Airport in Warwick, for passengers 
  • This was an impressive, comprehensive project incorporated the design of many moving parts of a public use space: the station, a rental car facility, a bus hub for local, and a parking garage.
  • One very unique aspect of the project was a 1,250-foot, elevated, enclosed skywalk with moving sidewalks that connect to the airport and to the station.

The project consisted of performance-based fire protection design for T.F. Green Airport’s intermodal facility. This project included parking, commercial space, transportation stops, and egress ways totaling approximately 1,400,000 sq/ft. The Warwick Intermodal Station provides a direct rail connection from T.F. Green State Airport in Warwick. This project included the station, a consolidated rental car facility, a bus hub for local and intercity buses, a parking garage to accommodate both the rental car fleets, and commuter rail passengers. A unique aspect of the project is a 1,250-foot, elevated, enclosed skywalk with moving sidewalks that connect to the airport and to the station.  This was a $267 million project.
