Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, Emergency Department Renovation, Providence, Rhode Island


Overview:

  • This emergency room renovation included many improvements to benefit nursing staff.
  • Additional expansions made to behavioral health.
  • A phased construction with future plans for ambulatory surgery unit.

This project consisted of the renovation and modernization of the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital Emergency Department. Improvements included upgrades to the core nursing area to enhance patient care and workflow, expanded treatment space for behavioral health patients and separate access for both patients and EMS professionals. The project was constructed in phases. An enabling phase upgraded all the MEP utilities and services; including new roof-top units for HVAC, new essential electrical distribution system consisting of new automatic transfer switches and distribution, and upgrades to the medical gas systems. Subsequent phases included a renovation of the emergency department and a CT scan addition, and future plans to renovate the ambulatory surgery unit.
