The project consisted of construction of a new 191,000 sq/ft, six-story, free-standing state-of-the-art pediatric hospital. The Hasbro Children’s Hospital is an 87-bed hospital containing a fifteen-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with four specialized rooms for bone marrow transplant, single-bed private rooms to accommodate parent stays, four pediatric operating suites, physical therapy and pediatric emergency room, as well as an outpatient facility for oncology and primary care. The building was designed to accommodate a three-floor vertical addition in the future. The $50 million project was completed in 1994.
