112 Southampton Street Homeless Shelter, Boston, Massachusetts


Overview:

  • This multi-phase project was performed in three different phases to renovate this emergency homeless shelter.
  • Phase one of the project occurred between Christmas and NewYear’s to create a temporary shelter.

The project scope of work was a phased design, the first phase was an emergency renovation to the 112 Southampton street building between Christmas and New Year’s to convert a portion of the building into a temporary homeless shelter.  Phase two of the project involved a complete gut renovation to the existing building with completely new HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems serving the sleeping areas with full staff support areas and offices.  Phase three of the project put an addition on the existing building to accommodate the kitchen and dining facilities, additional staff offices and secure building entry/screening area.
