Legacy Place is 675,000-square foot open-air shopping and entertainment complex located in Dedham, MA.  The site accommodates six large retail buildings ranging in size from 73,000 square feet to 134,000 square feet.  Although most of the buildings are only one-story, Building B has two-stories, and Building A includes three-levels and 428,000 square feet of overhead parking. 

Engineering services for this project included the complete design of the infrastructure required to support the future retail and restaurant tenant fit-outs, as well as the tenant fit-out work.  It included all power, data, lighting, water, sanitary, natural gas, fire protection and storm drainage systems.

Each tenant space was provided with individual high efficiency, packaged, gas heating, and DX cooling roof top units, domestic water feed, sanitary connection and fire protection systems with the exception of Building “A” . The HVAC design for Building “A” consisted of (2) 225 ton air cooled, high efficiency chillers to provide cooling and (3) high efficiency modular boilers totaling 4,500,000 btuh (output) which provide heating to the building. Chilled water and heating water is circulated through-out the facility by the use of 30 horsepower, base mounted pumps with capped connections to each tenant space for connection by tenant.
