Milford Regional Cancer Center
Milford, Massachusetts

The Milford Regional Cancer Center is a freestanding, two-story, 54,000 sq/ft oncology center. It contains radiation oncology, medical oncology, imaging, and phlebotomy departments.  The building also houses CT scanning equipment, PET scanning equipment, infusion bays, and a linear accelerator. The project was completed in 2007 at a construction cost of $24 Million.

The MEP design for this project followed the Green Guide for Health Care, and included a number of environmentally friendly and energy efficient components. The HVAC design consisted of engineering and design of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The Plumbing design consisted of sanitary, waste, storm water, medical gases and natural gas piping systems. The Electrical design included new power (normal and emergency), nurse call, lighting, and fire alarm systems. The electrical infrastructure involved a 2500A 480/277V switchboard with four separately metered sections. A 75kW generator located on the roof will support Dana-Farber systems upon utility failure. The Fire Protection design included a new fire protection system. The construction of this project was completed in 2006, at the cost of $22 million.
