Our practice began in 1945 with the founding of McCarron & Sullivan, Inc. Reorganized in 1956, Robert W. Sullivan, Inc. has become the largest firm based in New England to specialize in comprehensive plumbing, fire protection and sanitary engineering. Our services have expanded to include HVAC and electrical engineering as well as code consulting. These services include investigations and reports, systems design and specification, cost estimating, underground utilities survey, comprehensive construction administration services and operating and maintenance instructions.

Our technical expertise is derived from the high caliber of our engineers and technical staff: registered mechanical, electrical, sanitary and plumbing and fire protection engineers - as well as licensed electricians, pipe fitters and plumbers, many of whom have been with the firm for over 20 years.

Robert W. Sullivan, Inc. is not limited in the type or scope of projects we can undertake. Over the years we have completed a full range of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects. Recent work includes Shapiro Center (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) Inpatient Facility, the new research, development and manufacturing facilities at Solectron in Framingham, MA., the rebuilding of Malden Mills in Lawrence, MA., the new state of the art switch facility for Level 3 New England Business Center in Needham, MA, and many more.

Much of our work has been for major buildings at leading academic institutions around the U.S. We have designed mechanical systems for laboratories, athletic facilities, classroom buildings, dormitories, museums, schools, colleges and universities such as MIT, Johns Hopkins, Harvard and Duke.
