Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design, planning, and management of projects; act as Lead Engineer on projects; represent RWS in meetings; supervise team of designers and drafter; act as Project Manager on selected projects; participate in business development.

Position Responsibilities:

    Lead Electrical Engineer on projects.
    Responsible for production and review of narratives, drawings, and specifications for all assigned projects.
    Construction Administration duties.
    Team Leader- oversee designers and drafters and be responsible for meeting schedules.

Qualifications:

    Minimum of 7 years electrical design experience.
    BSEE (emphasis on Power Systems).
    Registered MA Professional Engineer (PE).
    Possess a strong technical background and strong knowledge of electrical systems including lighting, fire alarm, and power distribution for various institutional, medical, laboratory, commercial, and public buildings in the healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, large mixed-use residential buildings, and hotel markets. 
    Full knowledge and understanding of state building codes, energy codes,  and NFPA codes.
    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients.
    Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Electrical Designer
The Electrical Designer will support the lead electrical engineer on projects in producing construction documents.

Position Responsibilities:

    Electrical Designer on projects.
    Design and layout of lighting and receptacle devices, fire alarm design, electrical calculations.
    Coordinating with architectural components.
    Produce narratives, drawings, and specifications for all assigned projects.
    Construction Administration duties.

Qualifications:

    AS/BSEE (emphasis on Power Systems).
    Minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience in commercial, institutional, and public buildings in the healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, large mixed-use residential buildings, and hotel markets.
    Strong knowledge of Electrical systems and equipment.
    Knowledge and understanding of state building codes, energy codes, and NFPA codes.
    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients.
    Must be proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Electrical Designer/CAD Operator (Intern)
Position Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a co-op/intern student for a designer/CAD position in our Electrical Department to support the electrical team on projects in producing construction documents. Responsibilities include design and layout of lighting and receptacle devices, fire alarm design, electrical calculations as well as coordinating with architectural components. The ideal candidate should possess competent skills in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.

Qualifications:

    Working towards BSEE (emphasis on Power Systems).
    Must be proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel.
    Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

HVAC Engineer

HVAC Engineer-Energy Modeling
RWS is seeking a full-time mechanical engineer for Energy Modeling to join our growing energy and sustainability consulting group. We are seeking a motivated candidate who can grow with this department. The selected applicant will perform energy modeling and building analyses. Experience performing building energy modeling is a requirement for applying to this position. This position will require the Engineer to collect relevant information to perform energy and cost analysis. Projects will require energy modeling with eQuest, Trane Trace, or similar software. The ideal candidate will be adaptive to working with all property types and knowledgeable with regard to a variety of HVAC systems.

The successful candidate may also be expected to help perform commissioning activities and field verifications. Depending on project capacity, this candidate may also be expected to assist limited mechanical design.

Position Responsibilities

    Building energy modeling.
    BSME
    Understanding of and experience with a variety of HVAC systems.
    Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
    LEED AP credential a plus.
    Excellent report writing, computer, and internet skills.
    Excellent communication and time management skills.
    Ability to complete assignments on-time and within budget.
    Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Registration Requirements

    EIT or PE a plus.

HVAC Designer
The HVAC Designer will be responsible for supporting the lead HVAC engineer on projects in producing construction documents. 
Position Responsibilities:

    Support the Lead HVAC Engineer.
    Responsible for production of construction documents. 
    Perform heating/cooling load calculations, site surveys, layout, and sizing of ductwork and piping systems.
    Perform pressure loss calculations and equipment selections.
    Coordinate with architectural and structural building components.

Qualifications:

    Minimum of 2 years HVAC design experience.
    AS/BSME.
    Knowledge of HVAC systems and their applications. 
    Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel.  REVIT MEP experience is a plus.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

HVAC Commissioning Engineer
The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will have a background in HVAC engineering, direct digital controls, and energy efficiency strategies for large commercial buildings and a strong desire to balance their analytical- and report-writing skills with hands-on field work. The ideal candidate will also be an inquisitive problem solver that works well both independently and as part of a team and always maintains attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

Position Responsibilities:

    Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning.
    Write and administer commissioning plans.
    Develop and administer functional testing of HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical Systems.
    Develop and administer functional testing of DDC/PLC Control Systems and Sequences.
    System and equipment troubleshooting.
    Proactive problem identification and resolution.

    Observing startup activities/management of vendors.
    Test data collection and present findings.
    Commissioning and other report contribution/development.
    Daily interaction with management team.
    Oversight of engineers on project reporting.
    Oversight of project financials and interoffice/client reporting structure.

Qualifications:

    Minimum of 5 years field experience in hands-on testing, troubleshooting of large HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.
    BSME degree preferred but will substitute significant years of experience for exceptional candidates. This experience would include commissioning or designing of large HVAC and/or Electrical systems.
    LEED commissioning experience. Experience with ASHRAE and/or PECI Cx procedures and protocols are a plus.
    The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
    The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

MEP Operations Manager
RWS is seeking a qualified Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations including delivery, budgeting, and quality control. The Operations Manager will be responsible for improving profitability, increasing client satisfaction, and advocate for employee professional development. Experience working for an MEP/FP firm is required.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Ensure projects are delivered profitably and in accordance with RWS practices, processes, and procedures.

    Monitor projects’ budgets, performance, deadlines, and staffing needs.
    Oversee and work with project managers with regard to project scope, budget, delivery, and client satisfaction.

2. Monitor allocation of resources.

    Monitor workload for each MEP/FP team and individual staff.
    Assist department directors with departmental and project staffing.

3. Communicate with department and technical directors to plan, develop, and implement strategy for organizational development and structure.

    Participate in marketing and business development strategies.
    Establish measurements for financial and professional performance.
    Standardization.
    Professional development and training.

4. Maintain awareness and knowledge of current organizational development ideas and methods and communicate to directors, managers, and staff within organization.

    Monitor and participate in committees including PM, QC, Technology, and Standards Committees, to assure that committees’ goals and progress are in line with organizational objectives and strategic business plan.

Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer
The experienced Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer will support the P/FP design team on projects in producing construction documents.

Position Responsibilities:

    Perform plumbing system load calculations; layout and sizing of piping systems; hydraulic calculations and equipment selections.
    Coordinate with architectural and structural building components.

Qualifications:

    AS/BSME and a minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience in commercial, institutional, and public buildings in the healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, large mixed-use residential buildings, and hotel markets.
    Must be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Word, and Excel.

Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer/CAD Operator - Entry Level
The entry-level designer/CAD operator will support the P/FP design team on projects in producing construction documents. Responsibilities include performing plumbing system load calculations, layout, and sizing of equipment and piping systems; performing hydraulic calculations and equipment selections, as well as coordinating with architectural and structural building components.

Qualifications:

    AS/BSME or technical school Autodesk certification and some relevant co-op experience required.
    Must be knowledgeable with AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Word, and Excel.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Code Consultant/Fire Protection Engineer
We are currently seeking Code Consultants/Fire Protection Engineers of all experience levels to join our code consulting group. This position covers all aspects of fire safety and design, including analysis and design of sprinkler and fire alarm systems.

Qualifications:

    Degree in Fire Protection engineering, architecture, or related field.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, or fire modeling software is a plus.
